The Christians, from Liverpool, take their name from the surname of the three brothers that formed the band. Their soul-influenced sound had strong links to UK punk rock, New Wave music and post-punk, delivered with front-man Garrys distinctive look and velvet-smooth soulful tones.
Their first three singles including “Ideal World” and “Harvest for the World” all made the Top 40 in Britain, and their debut album The Christians (1987) entered the UK Albums Chart at number 2, eventually selling over a million copies. We’re delighted to be able to add them to our line-up!
